Hilliard & Olander Ltd. is a Minnesota corporation founded in 1983 by Diane Hilliard, CTC and Marcia Olander, CTC. Having worked together for more than 11 years custom designing travel arrangements for clients, Diane and Marcia opened their agency in downtown Minneapolis November 1, 1983. Both Marcia and Diane studied abroad as college undergraduates and had traveled widely from Europe to the Middle East, South America, South Pacific and Asia.

Assembling an experienced staff, they were able to offer past and future clients a unique combination of personal experience, extensive research capability, a worldwide network of colleagues, guides, accommodations, restaurants, sightseeing and unique travel experiences.

Having handled both international individual corporate executive travel, international executive meetings and incentive programs as well as providing leisure travel consultation for individual travel, family travel and expedition travelers, Hilliard & Olander Ltd. offers its clients in depth travel consultation capabilities rarely found in today’s automated society.

On January 26, 2000, after battling small cell lung cancer for more than a year, Marcia Eillott Olander died at home.  Marcia retired in 1996 but still kept her hand in the industry she entered as a high school student working at her mother's agency in upstate New York.  She will be missed by her family, friends, co-workers and clients.

Diane and Marcia became Certified Travel Counselors and life members of the Institute of Certified Travel Agents in Wellseley, Massachusetts in 1980. Marcia was a past president of the Upper Midwest American Society of Travel Agents and Diane is a past president of The Minnesota Regional Forum. Both have been   members of Minnesota Executive Women in Tourism and ASTA. Diane is a member of the Society of Incentive Travel Executives, Meeting Planners International and Cruise Line International Association.
